Learn About Burning And Storing Your Soy Candles

"Miss 101 royalty launch fund-raiser"
by Jamie Lemke-Barrand, Herald-Republican

ANGOLA ~ The young women who are holding Miss 101 Lakes titles will be at Fall Fest raising funds for the scholarship organization through the sales of handmade candles featuring scents they inspired and named.

Miss 101 Lakes 2003 Anna Hill, Miss 101 Lakes Teen 2003 Kelly Bouwman and Miss 101 Lakes Junior Teen 2003 Danielle Lemke-Barrand chose scents for jar candles made by local soy-wax candle maker Grazia Wilson of AromaSoy by Grazia. The candles will be available in six different scents:

  • Annahilla Vanilla and Hills of Lilac, both inspired by Hill.
  • Crowning Moment Cinnamon and Sparkling Tiara Strawberry, both inspired by Bouwman.
  • Princess Peony and Twinkling of an Eye Apple, both inspired by Lemke-Barrand.

Candles will come in two sizes, and sell for $10 and $15 each. They will feature an exclusive Miss 101 Lakes label created by Wilson. Title holders will be at a booth throughout the festival, and the candles will also be sold at the Miss 101 Lakes pageant on Oct. 29 and 30.
