Are there any of you like me who keeps hearing the ticking of the clock
in your conscious thoughts, knowing full well it’s also invading your
subconscious thoughts as well?
Isn’t it amazing how slowly time
moves when we’re young?
Remember how we couldn’t wait to get tall enough to ride the “big kid‘s”

40.……50.……65 and so on.

with the speed of decades……
whereas before we graduated from high school, each passing
year seemed to feel like it was a decade.
When I realized that time was cruising by at maximum warp drive for me,
I kept reminding myself that eventually I needed to find GOOD and
HEALTHY natural skin care products that would allow me to “stop
traffic“……. no matter what the calendar indicated.
For the most part I thought I was relatively safe for quite a while,
since I was blessed with good genes from my parents, coupled with adhering
to a healthier lifestyle and diet (which I’m convinced has afforded me
the luxury of appearing younger than half a century), so I focused on
the more important things in life.
I hoped by the time I really needed to worry about it, there would be
a Fountain of Youth miracle cream that was truly natural
that would immediately erase any wrinkles and age spots, shrink my pores
and tighten my sagging skin so I’ll look like I did when I was 25.………
despite being 65 or older!
Wishful thinking…… I know!! After all………..we all know such a miracle
cream really doesn’t exist…….or DOES IT???
If it does, let’s face it……… any product claiming to give us skin coveted
by Cleopatra herself, would also require cashing in our
401K!
Nevertheless, while trying to maintain my optimism, and be realistic,
I hoped to eventually find natural products that would at the very least
produce results as claimed, actually slow down that ticking clock and
minimize or erase the signs of aging from my skin as best it could……….at
an AFFORDABLE price……. allowing me to keep
my 401K (if I had one that is). That also wasn’t so full of chemicals
it turned me into a walking, radioactive, toxic waste site, who glowed
in the dark!.

just like I did, only to be continually disappointed.
After all……deep down we really WANT to believe the testimonials
of women on those late night infomercials, who claim they went from having

one who is 87 yet looks 37, of course we desperately want to believe it’s
due to the miraculous results from the product alone, and not possibly
due to plastic surgery or other invasive and expensive medical procedures
only they could afford.
I need not continue to rant about how many products are on the market
that claim to create…..then maintain a youthful
appearance, since let’s face it……….anti-aging products generate billions
of dollars a year! The cosmetic industry knows how much we all want to
look good at EVERY age!! So, we continue to search in the hopes of finding
a good one eventually
Please don’t misunderstand.
I’m not saying all of them are ineffective………..or have harmful
ingredients. There are many wonderful, natural products that produce results
out there.
I just can’t afford them!! However……..I’m
not alone!
As far as the rest of the products available that are more affordable
for the average person, unfortunately, when delving deeper and really
examining the ingredients (if we can pronounce them that is), it’s discovered
that many of them, even those found in so called “all natural” skin care
lines gracing the shelves of our favorite health food stores, are potentially
harmful chemicals.
To say it’s frustrating and disillusioning
is an understatement!
Believe me……..In my quest for a good
skin care line, I’ve tried several, such as…..
Victoria Principal’s Principal Secret, Murad, Connie Selleca’s Selleca
Solution, Arbonne, in addition to selling and using Jafra, BeautiControl,
Avon and ColorScope, of which I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few.
Obviously, I hadn’t found what I was
looking for ……
Results that satisfied ~ Healthy,
skin nourishing ingredients ~
A price I could afford…
You could say I was skeptical from my past experiences, but I was still
hopeful I’d eventually find something that fit the bill.
With that being said, when I was recently offered samples to try yet
another “natural” line of skin care, you can understand why I was apprehensive
and really didn’t expect to be impressed.

be “ all natural”, it never made sense there were ingredients included
I couldn’t pronounce, let alone know what they were. That didn’t set well
with me, but there were very few options I could afford so I felt trapped
into using something less than satisfactory.
However, there’s no way I want to
put something toxic on my skin!
I’m sure you remember from high school biology class that the skin is
considered to be our largest organ. We know that what we take internally
can affect our skin, therefore, the same holds true that what we put on
our skin can affect us internally as well.
So, it only stands to reason……. if
you’re slathering your skin in chemicals…….your overall health can be
adversely affected.
Thereby, the damage done by such ingredients with small enough molecules
to be absorbed through our skin could far outweigh the benefits we MIGHT
receive in the way of looking younger on the outside.
Therefore, based on my research, the following ingredients should be
avoided, many of which could not only damage our skin but very possibly
be dangerous to our overall health as well, such as…
- Petrolatums
- Paraffin
- Parabens
- Propylene Glycol
- Sodium Lauryl and Laureth Sulphates
- Dioxides
- Toluene
- Mineral Oil
- Lanolin
- 1,4-Dioxane, a carcinogen. (Often listed in the form of: Myreth, Oleth,
Laureth, Ceteareth, PEG, Polyethylene, Polyethylene glycol, Polyoxyethylene,
or Oxynol)
Unfortunately, sad to say, you will often find one or
more of these objectionable ingredients in most skin-care products
found in expensive department store cosmetic lines, specialty, health
food and drug store products, direct sales lines, as well as those sold
through infomercials claiming to be “all natural”
I don’t know about you, but as I said before, I don’t want questionable
and potentially toxic ingredients coating my skin, with the potential
of being absorbed into my bloodstream.
